Company Overview
Keweenaw Power Systems provides companies with electrical power expertise on an as need basis. Formed in July 1993 with the concept of supplying customers, that have a well rounded electrical background, with experience from electrical installation to computer simulation. We combine engineering, project management, and practical experience to design reliable power and control systems. The companies primary focus is in advising companies that provide or have solid engineering, but are not involved in specific harmonic, transient, and other power quality concerns on a day to day basis. A secondary role is to design and implement power and control systems to maintain current hands on knowledge of new products and concepts in these technologies.

Company Resources
Keweenaw Power Systems utilizes talent from a host of resources. In house engineers and technicians are available to do site surveys, harmonic studies, and on call trouble shooting. Power Quality overview presentations are done by KPS and one and two day seminars can be arranged with an affiliate. Computer modeling and system monitoring for harmonic and transient conditions are offered. Ties with other organizations allow us to offer more traditional electric power services such as: infrared studies, relay calibration, switchgear maintenance, the purchase of refurbished switchgear and modernized relay control.

While not an equipment representative, KPS does offer turn key installations of power monitoring systems. Having close ties with meter and transducer manufacturers allows KPS to stay on top of the latest changes in meter technology. Agreements with electrical contractors allows us to provide custom enclosures and installation of the hardware. In house engineers and technicians provide start up.
